Hughes pleased by Millwall verdict

9.33.17am GMT Thu 14th Jan 2010

Simon Hughes, Millwall supporter and one of Millwall's local MPs, responded today to the decision of the Independent Commission, which found none of the charges against Millwall proven following last August's game against West Ham.

Simon Hughes said:

"Like all true supporters and friends of Millwall FC I warmly welcome this week's decision finding that none of the charges against Millwall was proved."

"From the date the fixture was announced, I was clear that Millwall behaved responsibly - even though others did not make good decisions or proper arrangements."

"Millwall and its supporters have been working every year to build an excellent reputation as a club at home and away."

"

We must never miss any opportunity to set the best example - of football from the players and of behaviour from the fans."
