£2 million for Burgess Park

1.07.18pm GMT Wed 4th Mar 2009

Thank you to everyone who e-mailed me and who signed the petition for funding for Burgess Park on my website. I am delighted that Burgess Park has been awarded £2million from the London Assembly.

This is really excellent news and will ensure that the park achieves its full potential and is a space that all the community can use safely and frequently. I am particularly keen for more sports and play facilities for young people and leisure facilities for older residents. The more well used the park, the better it will be for us all. I believe that this will hugely benefit everyone's health and wellbeing and I will continue to do all that I can to support this very special space.
