Ofgem must make sure fuel prices are fair - Hughes

Commenting on Ofgem's plans for energy market reform, Liberal Democrat Shadow Energy and Climate Change Secretary, Simon Hughes said:

"We need to plan for maximum energy independence for Britain and for Europe.

"In the meantime, the regulator needs to make sure fuel prices are fair and that the energy companies stop the regular exploitation of vulnerable customers.

"There needs to be an urgent national programme to insulate all homes and deliver the fastest possible growth in renewable energy."
